Understanding the evidence for employers and health care organizations to improve health, reduce excessive medical costs and optimize productivity is essential to produce high performing people and companies. Impacting the behavioral and environmental drivers of poor health and business performance by addressing the root causes of disease, disability and total productivity costs will be discussed. The emerging and important roles of health coaching, epigenetics and lifestyle medicine will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe how employer best practices in aligning health and productivity with business success can be applied to health care organizations.

2. Discuss the Employer Health and Productivity Roadmap(TM) which addresses how an integrated, data-driven approach with aligned incentives can improve health, reduce excessive medical costs and optimize productivity.

3. Demonstrate how health coaching, epigenetics/lifestyle medicine, built environment, "whole person-family" approaches and behavioral economics are being incorporated into integrative, best practice employer models.
